I wish America would be more efficient with their land and well...place more focus on living in cities than massive suburban systems and the less good bus systems and whatnot. Chicago has some sort of suburban bus system (PACE) but far from the best. CTA bus sucks. 200 Species a day are going extinct, and the natural world that we are depending upon is being destroyed. Both are required for our survival, and if they die, we die too. If temperatures levels rise to a certain level, it would be impossible for us to survive. It's unlikely because this civilization will collapse before it gets to that point, but if it was able to get to that point, we would all die. Of course, the mass die-off is already here, and has been here since the start of civilization, and even more so with industrial civilization.

That's bullshit. Carrying capacity cannot be expanded, and more technology is just going to further destruction of the Earth even more. The fact remains that 200 species a day are going extinct, ecosystems are collapsing, habitats are being lost, this is a testimony to the fact that we have exceeded carrying capacity. It's a fixed number, it cannot be extended. Agriculture simply allows us to cheat it, which is exactly what those people are talking about with technology solving the issue. They want to cheat it further. They can't. They are killing the natural world which we can't survive without.

It's not just America, it's every country. We are building cities over habitats, we are creating agriculture fields to displace habitats, there is an increasing desertification, there is deforestation, etc. The crucial thing here is that we have to stop looking at it as being more 'efficient' with the land and look at it as, it isn't our place to be in a way of life which is destroying the earth. Civilization itself is based upon constant growth, constant expansion, constant exploitation, no system such as that can be sustainable, it is a cancer upon this earth. The leftists look at it in terms of stopping the destruction so it's less, we need to look at it as having a way of life which does no damage, which isn't ecocidal at all and the only way of life proven to be such is the gatherer-hunter way of life and the life of the small-scale horticulturalist/part-time gatherer-hunter.
